ABOUT THE PRINCIPAL
Dr. Freda J. Allen

Dr. Freda J. Allen currently serves as the principal of Wayne School of Technical Arts and has been an educator for over 25 years. She has a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and a Masters Degree in School Administration from East Carolina University. She has been an educator for over 25 years. She began her career teaching secondary mathematics at Southern Wayne High School. In 2003 she received National Board Certification in teaching mathematics and served as the 2004-2005 Wayne County Teacher of the year. She served as an administrator of Rosewood Middle School from 2011 - 2016. From 2016 - 2024 she served as the principal of Wayne Early/Middle College High School. In 2024, she received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University and was selected as the 2024-2025 Principal of the Year for Wayne County Public Schools.
Dr. Allen believes it is important as an administrator to establish clear communication methods. She has a passion for school culture and strives to create a welcoming learning environment for all students.
