
Hello Edgewood Parents,
As we begin to wrap up this school year, we would like to bring our families together for a learn and lunch. On Thursday, May 23, will host an event to share updates on the transition of Edgewood School to Eastern Wayne High School's campus. After the update, we invite you to partake in a cookout-style lunch. We will begin the brief presentation at 11 A.M. followed by lunch. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Reminder: Wednesday, December 20, is an early release day for all WCPS students. All schools will dismiss two hours earlier than usual. Have a safe and happy Holiday break!

Reminder: Wednesday, November 29, will be an early release day for most Traditional Calendar schools, Carver Heights Elementary, & Goldsboro High. WEMCHS, WSTA, & WSE will dismiss at their regular time. All other schools will dismiss 2-hours early. Please contact your child’s school if you need more information.

It is Red Ribbon Week/Spirit Week at ECDS. Please participate as much as you can during this week of fun.


PARENTS/GUARDIANS: If you are interested in being a chaperone for any of our upcoming field trips, you must apply through the Volunteer Portal prior to the trip. In order to keep our students safe you must go through this process prior to being a chaperone on the field trips. Once you apply through the Volunteer Portal, contact our front office and let us know you are interested in chaperoning for a field trip.

Congratulations to Thurman Bunn for being named the WCPS 2022-2023 School Bus Driver of the Year!

Congratulations to Kelly Core for receiving the WCPS 2022-2023 Technician Performance Award!

WCPS closed out its School Bus Driver Appreciation Luncheon by announcing its new 30 step salary scale for school bus drivers beginning July 1. The new starting salary is $16.17 per hour with drivers receiving annual pay increases. The district also presented a $500 appreciation bonus to bus drivers for their efforts to pick up extra routes and responsibilities this year due to driver vacancies. Thank you again for all that you do!!
