Severe Weather Preparedness Week will be March 3-9, 2024. The Statewide Tornado Drill will be held on Wednesday, March 6 at 9:30am. Teachers will be reviewing our severe weather protocols with their classes and we ask parents to talk with their children and stress that while this is a drill, it is to be taken seriously!

IT'S SPRING PICTURE TIME!
Strawbridge Studios will be on campus on Tuesday March 19 for Spring Pictures. These will be taken in the gym during your elective times. In addition, all spring sports teams will have their pictures taken that afternoon at 4:00pm.

Gov. Cooper has proclaimed Feb. 12- Feb. 16 as School Bus Driver Appreciation Week.

Our T-Bird Valentine's Day Dance is next Friday, Feb. 16 from 4:00pm-6:00pm in the T-Bird Gym. Tickets are on sale now for $5.00 and need to be purchased through Gofan. Monday, February 12, 2024 our 8th graders our T-Birds as they play their last home basketball game on the T-Bird court. Our Cheerleaders have worked hard and done a fantastic job of keeping everyone's spirits up so we would like to invite our parents, friends and family members to come out and show their support on this special night as we recognize our T-bird Cheerleaders, boy's basketball players and our girl's basketball players. The recognition ceremony will take place between the end of the girl's game and the beginning of the boy's game on that night. The girl's game will begin at 4:30pm.
Admission is $5.00 for all attendees 5 years old and up. Concessions will be available.
Valentine's Day Dance

Weather Announcement - Due to the threat of high winds causing issues for buses in the morning, WCPS will be operating on a 2-Hour delay, Wednesday, January 10. All students and staff will report 2-Hours later than usual.
For all GREENWOOD students, this means that the school building will open at 10:05am and classes will start at 10:30am.
After school math tutoring (Math matters) is canceled tomorrow and will continue on Thursday.
All athletics are canceled tomorrow, no practices on Tuesday Jan. 9.
All students are to leave campus at dismissal at 12:40pm.

Winter Showcase
The T-Bird Band, choir and visual arts classes will host a Winter Showcase on Monday, Dec. 18 at 6:00pm in the Greenwood Gym. Admission is FREE! Come out and enjoy an evening of music and art!

Greenwood is happy to be a collection site for Toys for Tots. The Toys for Tots bin is in the front lobby of our school. Toys for Tots will be picking up our donations this Friday Dec. 8. If you are able to help out a child in our community, they are accepting new, unwrapped toys.

On Thursday night, the Lady T-Birds welcomed the Tigers from Dillard Middle for the opening night of the middle school basketball season.
The T-birds came out strong and in the end, won the game by a score of 25-5. Coaches and players are to be congratulated on the win.

Greenwood boy's basketball team played a scrimmage game on Tuesday against Wayne County Day and they were victorious by a score of Greenwood 63 and Wayne County Day 48.
