Through hands-on study of biology, culture, and current events, students discover the unique adaptations of plants and animals, explore how humans have relied on these resources throughout history, and confront the challenges posed by biodiversity loss to human health.
As African naturalist Baba Dioum reminds us: “In the end, we will only conserve what we love. We will only love what we understand. We will only understand what we are taught.”
This year, the program is available for 8th grade students only. There are 36 spots, and participants will be selected by lottery.
📧 Interested students should email Melissa Hayes at melissahayes@wcps.org. 📄 Permission forms and trip details will go home at the start of the spring semester. 📅 Trip dates: April 20–22, 2026

We’re also excited to announce a front parking space raffle fundraiser to support the purchase of a new Titan mascot costume.
Thank you for your continued support in making these events memorable for our students and families.
We appreciate your understanding as we prioritize health and safety. With cold, flu, and other seasonal bugs going around, let’s all take extra care—wash hands often, cover coughs and sneezes, and look out for one another. 💙
Skip the car line!
We’re excited to launch our Titan Front Row Fundraiser—a quarterly raffle for premium afternoon pickup spots. Winners will bypass the regular car line and enjoy front-row access in the staff/student lot facing Lionel Street. It’s a fun way to support our school while giving families a smoother pickup experience.
Funds raised will go directly toward school spirit initiatives, including a new Titan mascot costume, and Student of the Quarter gifts. These efforts help us celebrate our students in meaningful ways throughout the year. Be on the lookout for more information coming home with students.
We just learned that Bus 622 is not running today or tomorrow, Monday, Oct 20th and Tuesday, Oct. 21st. Also, the Remind messaging app is not working at this time. We'll update you ASAP.
Picture Retake Day is Monday, October 21st!
This day is for all students in grades 6-11 who missed the first picture day or who want a retake, as well as Seniors who missed their original portrait day.
Mark your calendars!
