AdvancED Accreditation

Wayne County Public Schools is accredited by the North Central Association Commissioner on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commissioner on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).

In March 2019, a review team made up of current educators in districts across the state and nation came to Wayne County Public Schools to conduct a quality assurance review. During their four day review, the team visited schools and interviewed more than 200 stakeholders, including staff, students, parents, administrators, Board of Education members, and business partners.  In addition to conducting interviews and classroom observations, the team spent several weeks leading up to the review studying data and other key indicators to better understand how WCPS schools are meeting the performance standards and expectations as part of an improvement journey.

Specifically, the team examined the district’s systems and processes in relation to the three new AdvancED Performance Standards (Leadership Capacity, Learning Capacity, and Resource Capacity) and School/System Quality Factors (Clear Direction, Healthy Culture, High Expectations, Impact of Instruction, Resource Management, Efficacy of Engagement, and Implementation Capacity.)
