Good Evening Warrior Family!

This is Mr. Jones, Principal of Eastern Wayne High School, with your message to begin the week. I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for another strong week of teaching and learning.

Seniors! Thank you to those who have turned in their deposits for your Senior Trip to Disney World in April 2026. As you know we must have a minimum of 45 participants to make this trip possible. Continue to talk with your fellow classmates to ensure they lock in their spot for this trip. If numbers do not rise soon, we will look at other options to ensure this trip goes on as planned.

Parents and students, this is a reminder that we accept 5 parent notes per semester to excuse student absences. Doctor’s notes are also accepted and do not count as part of the 5 parent notes. Also, notes are due within 3 days of a student's return. Notes older than that may not be accepted. Thank you for your cooperation!

Students taking English 2, Math 1 and Math 3! This week you will be taking your NC Check In Assessment. Your teacher has or will communicate with you on when your assessment will be. It is important that you attend school to take your assessment as teachers use the data from these assessments to develop instruction to ensure student success.

On Tuesday, we will hold our National Honors Society Induction Ceremony in the main gym at 6:30. NHS advisors have already been in contact with students who qualified for this induction.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! To recognize and honor those who have fought or continue to fight breast cancer, we are asking students and staff to wear pink on Wednesdays for the remainder of the month.

Throughout the remainder of the school year, Tuesdays are designated as College Day! We encourage all students and staff to wear college apparel to promote post high school plans.

Here is the rundown of athletic events this upcoming week. On Monday, volleyball will host Smithfield-Selma at 4:30 for their match. On Tuesday, soccer will travel to West Craven at 6:00 for their match. On Wednesday, cross country will travel to North Pitt for their 4:00 meet. On Thursday, volleyball will travel to North Pitt for their 4:30 match, soccer will travel to North Johnston for their 6:00 match and JV Football will host East Duplin for their 5:30 kickoff. We hope to see each of you to support our Warriors.

Students, let’s start the week focused and prepared, arrive on time, stay engaged in class, and make positive choices that reflect Warrior pride. Parents, thank you for your continued support in keeping our students motivated and accountable.
Let’s make it a great week at Eastern Wayne High School, where we learn, lead, and grow together.

Wishing everyone a productive and positive week ahead! And as always…Warrior Pride! All Day! Every Day! Goodnight Warrior Family!

Good Evening Warrior Family!

This is Mr. Jones, the proud principal of EWHS. I hope this message finds you well and that you had a restful and enjoyable weekend.

Also Seniors! Friday we will have Senior Picture Make Ups in the Media Center. Please check your email from Lifetouch and an email from Mr. Radford to sign up for a time to get your picture taken on Friday.

On Monday, we will be holding a Club Fair walkthrough in the cafeteria during all 4 lunches. Please encourage your child to check out the various club opportunities they can be part of this school year. Joining a school based club helps students connect with other students and helps them take ownership in bettering themselves and EWHS.

On Thursday at 6:00, we will be holding a Senior Parent Night. Come listen to our counselors as they communicate with you important information to ensure your child has a successful senior year.

Here is the rundown of athletic events this upcoming week. On Tuesday, volleyball will travel to North Lenoir for their 4:30 match and soccer will travel to North Pitt at 6:00 for their match. On Thursday, volleyball will host SW Edgecombe for their 4:30 match, soccer will host Washington at the Bryan Complex in Goldsboro for their 6:00 match and JV Football will host SW Edgecombe for their 6:30 kickoff. To wrap up our athletic week, Varsity Football will travel to SW Edgecombe for their 7:00 kickoff. We hope to see each of you to support our Warriors.

As we begin a new week, I want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of staying focused, being kind, and doing your best each and every day.
Whether you're in the classroom, on the field, or interacting with others throughout the school, your attitude and effort matter. Let’s continue to aim for positive participation in all your classes. Respectful behavior toward your peers and teachers. Staying organized and on top of your assignments and asking for help when you need it. We’re here to support you.

To our families, thank you for your continued partnership. Your support helps make our school a strong and caring community where students can thrive.

Wishing everyone a productive and positive week ahead! And as always…Warrior Pride! All Day! Every Day! Goodnight Warrior Family!
