Good afternoon Warrior Family! This is Mr. Jones, the proud principal of EWHS.
I just want to start out by saying that our Class of 2025 Graduation ceremony was an awesome event! Thank you to everyone that joined us for this special milestone for our students.
Our EOC scores are coming in and we are excited about our proficiency numbers for the 2024-2025 school year. Today, our administrative team will be analyzing student data and will be making phone calls home to offer remediation and retesting options for students who were close to being proficent on their EOC exams. Please assist us in allowing your child to participate in this opportunity.
School summer hours will begin tomorrow for our office staff. Summer hours are Monday-Thursday from 7:30-5:30.
Report cards can be picked up from the main office beginning Monday from 12:00PM-5:00PM. On Tuesday-Thursday, report cards can be picked up from 8:00AM-5:30AM.
Rising seniors should be receiving an email from Lifetouch to schedule a time on June 18th to come on campus to take their senior portraits.

If you received a call today for your child to take part in our remediation opportunity for their EOC, please note buses will run at the regular time and possibly be earlier than normal. Wendy Neal (formerly Wendy Mozingo) is retiring this year after 30 years of teaching. We are reaching out to ask anyone who was taught by her or knows of someone that was taught by her to come out to our First Grade awards ceremony tomorrow, June 4th between 1 and 1:15. We will meet in the cafeteria of Eastern Wayne Elementary. At the end of the awards ceremony, First Grade and Amanda Capps will present her with flowers and ask if any student or adult who has ever been taught by her to come forward. We want to show her how much she has impacted the lives of her students.

This week, students will be taking their state EOC and CTE exams. It is imperative that students arrive on time to school and class this week. Students have been made aware of their exam schedule for the week. Students should not be on campus if they are not scheduled to take an exam. Testing will conclude at approximately 12:30 each day and no student checkouts or early releases will be allowed due to testing.

As a reminder, student attendance at graduation practice is mandatory and is a requirement for you to be able to participate in the graduation ceremony on June 7th. If you have a scheduling conflict please ensure you speak to one of the administrative team members and or Ms. Daniels in Student Services.

Last night we were honored to have EWHS alum, Mayor of Goldsboro, Mr. Charles Gaylor, to come speak to our JROTC students last night at their EOY JROTC ceremony! We appreciate your support for EWHS!
Tonight Mrs. Sauls enjoyed some good food at the Wayne County Public Schools Retirement Dinner. Mr. Jones and I were honored to be in her presence as she has given 24 years to EWHS so we thought it not robbery to give her 2 hours. She has been a blessing to the staff, and students at EWHS and we all celebrate her. Thank you Mrs. Sauls for a job well done.

Congratulations to our Warrior Boys track team as they took home 3rd Place this past weekend in the NCHSAA 2A State Playoffs. We had several competitors take home individual and team medals as well. We also want to congratulate the Warrior Girls 4x100 Relay team for finishing 2nd in the state championship. We are proud of each one of you for your accomplishments on the track.
We have several award ceremonies on campus this upcoming week. On Tuesday, we have our JROTC Awards. On Wednesday we have our Athletic Awards and on Thursday we have our School-Wide Academic Awards. All ceremonies will be held in the main gym beginning at 6:00.
On Tuesday, May 20th, our Seniors will be participating in the Senior Walk at local feeder Elementary Schools. This is a great opportunity to show our upcoming Warrior students what they get a chance to look forward to in the coming years.
