Wendy Neal (formerly Wendy Mozingo) is retiring this year after 30 years of teaching. We are reaching out to ask anyone who was taught by her or knows of someone that was taught by her to come out to our First Grade awards ceremony tomorrow, June 4th between 1 and 1:15. We will meet in the cafeteria of Eastern Wayne Elementary. At the end of the awards ceremony, First Grade and Amanda Capps will present her with flowers and ask if any student or adult who has ever been taught by her to come forward. We want to show her how much she has impacted the lives of her students.
Good Evening Warrior Family! This is Mr. Jones, the proud principal of EWHS. I hope everyone had a restful and safe weekend and are ready for the upcoming exam week.
This week, students will be taking their state EOC and CTE exams. It is imperative that students arrive on time to school and class this week. Students have been made aware of their exam schedule for the week. Students should not be on campus if they are not scheduled to take an exam. Testing will conclude at approximately 12:30 each day and no student checkouts or early releases will be allowed due to testing.
Parents, thank you for allowing our wonderful staff here at Eastern Wayne High School to educate and mentor your students this school year. We look forward to another wonderful and successful school year next year!
And as always…WE ARE EWHS! I hope each of you has a safe and wonderful rest of your evening and I look forward to seeing everyone Tuesday morning in Warrior Country! Goodnight!
🌽What a wonderful evening we had tonight at our FFA Banquet. FFA students were recognized for their accomplishments this school year! We look forward to another great year next year! 🚜

Good Evening Warrior Family! This is Mr. Jones, the proud principal of EWHS. I hope everyone had a restful and safe Memorial Day weekend and are ready for the upcoming week.
Parents and students! Tomorrow, May 26th we will be recognizing our Memorial Day holiday. There will be no school for students and or staff. I would like to take a moment and thank those military men and women who currently serve and those who have served in all branches of military service. The sacrifice that you have given gives us the freedom that we have today. On behalf of the EW Family, thank you for serving our great country!
Seniors, please continue to take advantage of the scholarship opportunities that our counselors are sending to your school email. These are great opportunities to apply for scholarships if you are planning on attending college after high school.
Seniors! Go ahead and mark your calendars for Graduation Practice at the University of Mount Olive beginning at 9:00 on Friday, June 6th. Transportation will be provided! As a reminder, student attendance at graduation practice is mandatory and is a requirement for you to be able to participate in the graduation ceremony on June 7th. If you have a scheduling conflict please ensure you speak to one of the administrative team members and or Ms. Daniels in Student Services.
Parents, thank you for your cooperation and continued support with having those crucial conversations with your child about the importance of coming to school and following school-wide expectations.
Students, we have 3 school days remaining until we begin our County Assessments and 5 school days remaining until we begin our State EOC’s and State CTE exams. It is important that you attend school regularly and continue turning in your assignments to your teachers. We are extremely proud of you and want to continue the success here at EWHS.
And as always…WE ARE EWHS! I hope each of you has a safe and wonderful rest of your evening and I look forward to seeing everyone Tuesday morning in Warrior Country! Goodnight!

Our Media Center mural is complete! Special thanks to our amazing art teacher, Mrs. Mozingo and her Senior art students for working on this project! They have definitely left their mark here at EW! 🎨
Last night we were honored to have EWHS alum, Mayor of Goldsboro, Mr. Charles Gaylor, to come speak to our JROTC students last night at their EOY JROTC ceremony! We appreciate your support for EWHS!
Tonight Mrs. Sauls enjoyed some good food at the Wayne County Public Schools Retirement Dinner. Mr. Jones and I were honored to be in her presence as she has given 24 years to EWHS so we thought it not robbery to give her 2 hours. She has been a blessing to the staff, and students at EWHS and we all celebrate her. Thank you Mrs. Sauls for a job well done.
🎨Congratulations to Gwyneth Terrell and Christian Maddox for being recognized for their outstanding art work at the 2025 WCPS Visual Arts Awards held at Wayne Community College! We are proud of you and your creatively! #WarriorPride🖌️
