📢 Student Dress Code Reminder: Spring/Summer 2026As the weather warms up, we want to ensure all Goldsboro High School students are prepared and informed regarding our seasonal dress code expectations. While we encourage comfortable attire for the rising temperatures, all students must continue to follow school guidelines to maintain a professional learning environment. Key Expectations: Tops & Shirts: Midriffs must not be visible at any time. Shirts must be long enough to fully cover the stomach and waistband area. Alterations: Shirts should not be folded, rolled, or altered to expose the stomach, back, or belly piercings. Bottoms: Biker shorts are only permitted when worn underneath jeans, pants, or skirts. Length: All shorts and skirts must pass the "fingertip test" to ensure appropriate length. Compliance: Please be advised that enforcement of these expectations begins immediately. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action, which may include In-School Suspension (ISS) or Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) for repeated violations. Pollen levels in Goldsboro are currently in the moderate to high range, with tree pollen (such as maple, oak, and cedar) being the primary cause. Spring is peak allergy season, and these conditions are expected to continue through the coming weeks.
We have noticed an increase in visits related to allergy symptoms. If you are part of WISH, you are welcome to come see us if your symptoms become difficult to manage. It is important that you take responsibility for managing your seasonal allergies.
Reduce Exposure:
Keep windows closed at home and in your car, especially on windy days.
Shower and change clothes after spending time outdoors.
Check daily pollen forecasts and limit outdoor activity during peak times.
At-Home Relief Options:
Consider using HEPA air filters indoors to improve air quality.
Eat foods rich in Vitamin C (such as fruits and vegetables) to support your immune system.
Medication Options (if needed):
