Pollen levels in Goldsboro are currently in the moderate to high range, with tree pollen (such as maple, oak, and cedar) being the primary cause. Spring is peak allergy season, and these conditions are expected to continue through the coming weeks.
We have noticed an increase in visits related to allergy symptoms. If you are part of WISH, you are welcome to come see us if your symptoms become difficult to manage. It is important that you take responsibility for managing your seasonal allergies.
Reduce Exposure:
Keep windows closed at home and in your car, especially on windy days.
Shower and change clothes after spending time outdoors.
Check daily pollen forecasts and limit outdoor activity during peak times.
At-Home Relief Options:
Consider using HEPA air filters indoors to improve air quality.
Eat foods rich in Vitamin C (such as fruits and vegetables) to support your immune system.
Medication Options (if needed):
Over-the-counter antihistamines like cetirizine (Zyrtec) or loratadine (Claritin) may help relieve symptoms. Schedule an appointment with our provider in WISH or with your primary care provider or speak with a pharmacist for more information.
Please take care of yourselves during allergy season.
