Wednesday, December 10th, is our last regular school day of the Fall Semester. Thursday and Friday, students will take their Final exams for non-state tested subjects. This will change the bell schedule during the school day to allow for more time to take exams.

Weather Announcement - Due to the threat of below freezing temperatures and standing water causing icy conditions on secondary roadways in the morning, Wayne County Public Schools will have a 2-Hour Delay, Tuesday, December 9. This means that all non-essential personnel will report to work two (2) hours beyond their normal starting time and the student day will begin at individual schools two (2) hours later than normal. Please continue to monitor local media, the district Facebook page @WayneCountyPS, or the district website for further weather announcements.

Weather Announcement - Due to the threat of inclement weather forecast to arrive late tomorrow afternoon and early evening, all schools will dismiss 2-hours early, Monday, December 8. Additionally, all after school programs, school sponsored activities, and athletic practices and events have been canceled. Student and staff safety is our top priority. These actions will help ensure our campuses have been cleared and all school buses are safely off the road before any potential icy conditions occur. Indoor Track Schedule Update:
Due to an issue with Electronic Timing equipment, the meet scheduled for Dec. 10 has been cancelled.
Next meets are as follows:

Dec. 13th @ JDL in Winston-Salem (only specific invitations)

Jan. 14th @ Hunt

Several CBA DECA members participated in preparing tonight for the Kriquette’s Kidz event that will be held this Sunday.
These students helped sort donations and wrap large display boxes. CBA DECA loves serving our community!

Notes from Guidance:

Students will receive a new hard copy of their schedule on the first day of 2nd semester from the Homeroom teacher. The first day back for students is January 6.

The Girls Basketball Program wanted to thank all the students, faculty, and staff that came out yesterday to support our boys and girls programs in their games against Eastern Wayne High School.
Alonna Frederick scored 14 points, followed by Kanysia Smith with 12, Lauren Burton with 11 and Camiya Frederick with 8.
Come out tonight to cheer on your teams when we host Corinth Holder.

We have been informed that Rocky Mount WILL charge admissions for today's (12/3) track meet. The cost of the tickets are $10.00 each. They will NOT accept cash at the gate. They WILL accept card payments.

WRESTLING UPDATE!
Good morning,

Today's Quad will take place at Southern Wayne High School in the Old Gym. They have a basketball game taking place in the New Gym. Wrestling will start at 5:00pm. The entrance of the Old Gym is at the front of the school.

This month's FFA Chapter Meeting has been moved to Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 2:45pm. Any questions, please see Mr. Edmundson or Mrs. Capps.

A big Golden Falcon shoutout to the folks at Nunn, Brashear and Uzzell, PA for giving one of our students, Nolan Jarvis, the opportunity to observe their professionals and be provided with invaluable insight into the accounting field . We are truly grateful for the time, guidance, and hospitality they provided throughout the experience.

CBA Girls Basketball would like to thank all the students, faculty and staff that came out Friday to support our opening season basketball game against Goldsboro H.S.
Alonna Frederick recorded a double double Friday with 10 rebounds and 15 points. Camiya Frederick chipped in 9 points and Keytah Kermode added 6 to round out our top three scorers.
We host J.H. Rose High School tomorrow, Nov. 25th at 6:00 pm.

Seniors: Please make sure that you have paid your senior fee of $75. The fee will go up to $90 effective January 1, 2026. You will also need to see Mrs. Limbaugh in the office to verify other fees that you may owe from previous years.

There will be a Women's Soccer Interest meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 9:00am in the Media Center.
All girls interested in playing soccer in the spring need to attend this meeting.
