Congratulations to Coach Laura Romo and our Girls Basketball Team and Coaches on a hard fought win over Triton last night in the 2nd round of the NCHSAA 3A State Playoffs! Good Luck on Tuesday night in the Sweet 16 game at Cape Fear HS in Fayetteville! Good Luck to Mrs. Stephanie Grimes and our DECA Students in their State Competition in Greensboro! This coming week is National School Breakfast Week, so we celebrate our School Cafeteria Manager Mrs. Lisa Woodard and our School Cafeteria Staff for all they do to keep our Golden Falcons properly nourished. A few reminders for this coming week: Our Next College Day will be held on Tuesday as we encourage everyone to wear their favorite college team's gear to celebrate our college and career going culture at CBA. Our National Technical Arts Honor Society Induction ceremony will be held on Thursday at 1:30 PM in the New Gym. Our next Parent Advisory Council meeting will be held on Thursday at 5:00 PM. Our FAFSA Night will be held on Thursday at 6:00 PM in the Media Center. Also, please save the following dates for some important future events: Wednesday, 3.13.24 is an Early Dismissal Day with school dismissal at 1:00 PM. Friday, 3.15.24 is the end of the 3rd Quarter Grading Period. Tuesday, 3.26.24 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM - Future Falcons Night for all incoming 9th grade students & families, and any students & families who are new to our school. Congratulations to our CBA Senior, Harley Marie Haley who was awarded a scholarship at the Wayne County Livestock Association 76th Annual Meeting. The $3,000.00 scholarship was awarded to Harley to attend the university of her choice. Harley served on the junior fair board, has livestock show experience, high academic scores, and excellent references. We want to congratulate Harley Marie on this success! Congratulations to Coach AJ Mundle and our Boys Basketball team and Coaches who finished as Conference Tournament Runner-ups! Job Well done by Mrs. Karen Cox and our FFA students with this past week's FFA Week! Our FFA Career Fair was a huge success! We also had a successful Spring Sports Parents Meeting this past week and are now looking forward to our Spring Sports seasons! Good Luck to our DECA Students who will travel to Greensboro this week for our State Competition! Please join us on Thursday this week at 6:00 PM at the Maxwell Center for our WCPS Superintendent Dr. Marc Whichard's Budget presentation! For Immediate Release Date: Friday, February 9, 2024 WCPS Superintendent to host special budget presentation event at Maxwell Center Goldsboro, N.C. - In three weeks, Wayne County Public Schools (WCPS) superintendent, Dr. Marc Whichard, will host a special community event at the Maxwell Center to present the school district’s 2024-2025 local budget. “We are inviting community members, business leaders, nonprofit leaders, parent organizations, civic groups, Base leadership, elected officials, and area news media to join me at the Maxwell Center for this special county-wide event,” states Dr. Whichard. “As part of my presentation, I will share what our school district’s needs are and what I plan to request from the Wayne County Board of Commissioners for next year’s local budget appropriation. We are Block scheduled this week with 90 minute classes and a 10 minute homeroom each day. Winter Sports Team photos will be held on Thursday and Herff Jones will also be on campus on Thursday to deliver Senior Class rings.
