An important message from Charles B. Aycock High School for Saturday, 3.9.24: Hello Golden Falcons Family! It's always a great day at CBA! March is National School Social Workers Month and we are certainly very Thankful for our wonderful Social Worker, Mrs. Melissa Swenson and all that she does for our Golden Falcons Family! A few reminders for our coming week: This coming week is our Flex Week schedule for our enrichment / clubs week. Clubs will meet on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We have our early dismissal day with dismissal at 1:00 PM on Wednesday. The end of our 3rd quarter grading period is on Wednesday. Also, please save the following dates for some important future events: On Friday, 3.22.24, we will have an extended homeroom schedule so that our students can receive their report cards and their 2024-25 course registration packets. The week of Monday 3.25.24 through Thursday, 3.28.24, we will have Flex Schedule as we hold our AP Course Interest meetings in the media center. On Tuesday, 3.26.24 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, we will hold our Future Falcons Night for all incoming 9th grade students & families, and any students & families who are new to our school. Friday, 3.29.24 through Sunday, 4.7.24 is our Spring Break with No School for Students and Staff. Lastly, please remember that Sunday, 3.10.24 is Daylight Savings Time, when at 2:00 AM on Sunday night, we "Spring" forward an hour and move our clocks forward an hour. An important message from Charles B. Aycock High School for 5:00 PM on Sunday, 3.3.24: Hello Golden Falcons Family: This message is to share some important information regarding our upcoming FAFSA Night for this Thursday, 3.7.24 at 6:00 PM in the Media Center. The event should last from 6:00 until about 7:30 PM with a presentation at 6:00 PM and then time for students and families to work on the FAFSA Application process with online access. The FAFSA presentation will be given by our partners from Wayne Community College. Also, it is highly recommended that students and parents obtain an FSA ID at least three (3) days prior to our FAFSA night event in order to allow time for confirmation through the Social Security Administration and to reduce the possibility of manually entering tax information. In order to complete the online FAFSA applications, both the students and parents will need a Social Security Number in order to create the FSA ID. Good Luck on Tuesday night in the Sweet 16 game at Cape Fear HS in Fayetteville! Good Luck to Mrs. Stephanie Grimes and our DECA Students in their State Competition in Greensboro! This coming week is National School Breakfast Week, so we celebrate our School Cafeteria Manager Mrs. Lisa Woodard and our School Cafeteria Staff for all they do to keep our Golden Falcons properly nourished. For Immediate Release Date: Friday, February 9, 2024 WCPS Superintendent to host special budget presentation event at Maxwell Center Goldsboro, N.C. - In three weeks, Wayne County Public Schools (WCPS) superintendent, Dr. Marc Whichard, will host a special community event at the Maxwell Center to present the school district’s 2024-2025 local budget. “We are inviting community members, business leaders, nonprofit leaders, parent organizations, civic groups, Base leadership, elected officials, and area news media to join me at the Maxwell Center for this special county-wide event,” states Dr. Whichard. “As part of my presentation, I will share what our school district’s needs are and what I plan to request from the Wayne County Board of Commissioners for next year’s local budget appropriation.
