An important message from the Wayne County Public Schools System and CBA - Inclement Weather - All Afterschool activities (Athletics and Band practices) CANCELLED for today. "Due to the threat of inclement weather forecast to arrive late this afternoon and early evening, all non-traditional academic calendar schools will dismiss 2-hours early today, Thursday, August 10. This includes Goldsboro High, Wayne Early/Middle College High School, and Wayne School of Engineering. All students and staff will dismiss two hours earlier than usual to ensure everyone is home and all buses are off the road before any potential high winds or severe thunderstorms occur. Additionally, all after school programs and school sponsored activities and athletic practices scheduled after 4 PM today have been canceled district-wide." CBA 2023 Football Schedule
WCPS closed out its School Bus Driver Appreciation Luncheon by announcing its new 30 step salary scale for school bus drivers beginning July 1. The new starting salary is $16.17 per hour with drivers receiving annual pay increases. The district also presented a $500 appreciation bonus to bus drivers for their efforts to pick up extra routes and responsibilities this year due to driver vacancies. Thank you again for all that you do!!
