An Important Message from Charles B. Aycock High School for Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at 11:00 AM: Hello Golden Falcons Family! Hope everyone enjoys our fall weather as we reach the middle of October. I want to commend our students on their school attendance as our students are attending school at a 93% attendance rate through the first 6 weeks of school. I would challenge everyone to place a premium on school attendance as we have a goal of having 95% attendance for all students at CBA. Parents and Students please continue to help us with daily school attendance as we know there is a direct correlation between school attendance and academic success. Our Fall Sports Teams are continuing to flourish. Coach Huff and our undefeated men's soccer team vying for another conference championship this coming week; Coach Zietlow and our Varsity Football team is having another great season at 6-2; Coach Otellio and our JV Football team are rolling as well; Coach Davis and our Volleyball team are eyeing another trip to the state playoffs; Coach Matthews and our girls golf team played well at our recent conference championship match; Coach Thomas and Coach Horton have our Cross Country teams still running; and our Girls Tennis Team provided Coach Clark with his 700th career win! Way to get us off to a great start to our school year! We are also experiencing great success in our CTE programs, with several of our students placing at our recent Wayne County Fair; and our Clubs performing well at their respective district competitions. Way to Go DECA, FFA, and FCCLA! Excellent job by our arts department with our Band representing us well at Band Competitions, and our Art students placing at the Fair and even having art work on display at the NC State Fair! A few reminders for this coming week: Tuesday is another of our College Days and we encourage everyone to wear their favorite college team gear as we celebrate our college and career going culture at CBA. Wednesday is another of our Breast Cancer Awareness Days and we encourage everyone to wear Pink. Our Herff Jones rep will be on campus on Wednesday to visit with our 11th and 12th grade students. Thursday is the last day of our 1st quarter grading period, with our Report Card Distribution to be held on Friday, 10.27.23. Friday, 10.20.23 is a Teacher Workday with no school for students on this day. We look forward to another great week at the Flagship! Stay Golden Falcons!

Charles B. Aycock High School- Golden Falcons - updated / new logos! We appreciate and value the input we received from CBA students, families, alumni, faculty & staff, coaches, and administrators and are very excited to share our updated CBA Golden Falcons Logos for use starting today (10.9.2023) and moving forward. But before I share our updated CBA Golden Falcons logos, I would like to share some important information regarding the history of our school, school mascot, and school colors: -From 1961 to 1970 - Charles B. Aycock HS ("Aycock HS") was the historical white school, while Norwayne HS was the historical black school in our community, before the WCPS schools system integrated the schools during the 1970-71 school year. -In 1970-71 the integration of schools in Wayne County, brought together the Norwayne HS Golden Lions (Navy Blue & Gold) and the Aycock HS Falcons (Columbia Blue and White), to form our current Charles B. Aycock High School "Golden Falcons" taking the "Golden" from the Norwayne HS Golden Lions and the "Falcons" from the Aycock HS Falcons to form the "Golden Falcons" as our official mascot representing all students and families in the communities that we serve! -Likewise the school colors were also combined with the "Gold" from Norwayne HS with the Columbia Blue & White from Aycock HS to create our official school colors (from 1970-71 to the present) to be: "Columbia Blue, Yellow Gold, and White!" Therefore as we move forward at Charles B. Aycock High School, we will continue to "Honor our Past, Embrace our Present, and Leave a Legacy for our Future" in all that we do through our celebration of our rich and diverse history through the use of our Official CBA school colors, mascot, and logos! - Top Row - Updated CBA - Block "A" logos which include our official school colors. - Middle Row - Traditional / Historic CBA logos from our past which include our official school colors. - Bottom Row - New CBA Logos designed by students from our CBA Art Class which include our official school colors. We are the "Golden Falcons" of CBA and we proudly wear our "Blue, Gold, and White"! Stay Golden Falcons! #TheAycockWay

An Important Message from Charles B. Aycock High School for Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 11:30 AM: Hello Golden Falcons Family! We had such a great Homecoming / Spirit Week! From the daily Spirit Week themes, to the Pep Rally, to the Parade, to the Football game, a new Homecoming Queen, and a Homecoming Dance to wrap up an amazing week at The Flagship! This coming week is National School Lunch week so we thank our School Cafeteria Staff for all that they do to provide nutritious lunches for our students everyday! Remember that October is Countdown to College Month, and as a part of our college and career going culture, we will have our College Days every Tuesday for the rest of the month. So, on Tuesdays in October we encourage everyone to wear their favorite college gear as we create more awareness of various colleges and universities for our students. On Wednesday this week we will have a meeting after school with all of our Fall athletics teams student-athletes and coaches in the New Gym. The meeting should last about thirty minutes. We hope everyone has a great weekend and we look forward to another great week at CBA! Stay Golden Falcons! CBA - Challenging, Believing, Achieving #TheAycockWay
