Good Evening Warrior Family, this is Mr. Jones, the proud principal of EWHS. I hope everyone had a safe weekend and are ready for the upcoming week. Senior Trip to Kings Dominion deposits are still being accepted. Please turn these in to Mr. Willoughby in the West Wing during your lunch period. The permission form must accompany the student payment. The EWHS Prom will be held on May 9th at Walnut Creek Country Club. Tickets are still on sale during all lunches in the lobby of the main building. In order to purchase tickets, you must be a current Junior or Senior and you must not owe any school debts. Please check with Mr. Radford and Ms. Sauls to ensure you do not owe any debts. On Tuesday, April 8th, our assistant principal, Ms. Sutton will be conducting an ACT Parent Night at 6:00. Please come on out and hear about and ask any ACT questions that you may have. On April 10th in the EWHS Cafeteria, our SGA and Art Club will be sponsoring a Paint Night from 6:00 until 8:00. Food will be provided, so come on out and bring the whole family and enjoy some laughs, fellowship and creativity. On Saturday, April 12th, our FFA is holding their spring plant sale fundraiser. On Tuesday, the Warrior Baseball, Softball and Soccer teams will have home games and matches against Spring Creek at 6:30. On Wednesday, The Warrior Tennis team will play their Conference Tournament. There are many scholarships opportunities available. Your counselors have been sending out emails daily of scholarships that you can take advantage of. Please check these out with your family and begin planning your academic future. Your child’s 1st period teacher should have passed out registration information for the 2025–2026 school year last week. If your student has any questions, please have them see their counselor in Student Services. Students! Do you have school spirit? Parents, please have your student check their email concerning spirit week for this upcoming week. To get more student participation, a trophy will be awarded to a female and male student in each grade level who show the most school spirit during our Pep Rally on Friday. In order for students to qualify for the trophy, students must participate each day of the week as well as check-in with Mr. Radford in the Media Center. A judging committee will determine the winners! Lets see how creative you all can be! This upcoming week begins our NCHSAA 2A State Playoffs. Our Warrior Boys will host Hertford County HS on Tuesday night at 7:00. Our Warrior Girls will travel to Fairmont HS with game time at 7:00. Eastern Wayne Athletics has really shined this past week. On Saturday evening our Varsity Boys basketball team clinched 1st Place in the 2A Neuse as they defeated Goldsboro HS to go undefeated and earn the regular season crown. Congratulations to Nasir Williams who finished 4th in the 2A Regional Wrestling Tournament. He has earned a spot in this upcoming weekend's 2A State Championships in Greensboro. This past Friday Rahkeem Faison, Jeremiah Faison, Koriante Williams, Gavin Britcher, Averiah Bryant, Taylor Waters, Tamiyah Boone, Janiya Benton and Diamond Edwards competed in the 2A State Track Championships in Winston Salem. Rahkeem Faison earned 2nd Place honors in the 55m and 300m, Jeremiah Faison earned 3rd Place honors in the 55m hurdles and Koriante Williams earned 4th Place honors in the shot put. We also want to give our other Warrior qualifiers some love even though they fell short in medaling. They gave their overall best. We also want to thank Coach Oates, Coach Broadhurst, Coach Gates, Coach Daughtry and their assistant coaches for the hard work in preparing our athletes this year. This upcoming week our Varsity Warrior Teams will compete in the 2A Neuse Conference Tournament. Monday, the varsity girls basketball team will head to Beddingfield HS to take on Spring Creek HS at 3:30. The varsity boys basketball team has a first round bye and the time and location will be determined tomorrow.
