Good evening Northeast Guardians: here are next week’s updates and reminders. The PBIS focus will be bathroom. Discuss with your child about following the rules of the bathroom. Friday, February 7th, progress reports went home. Please review them and reach out to the teacher if you have any questions. Please RSVP for our student-led conference/art/pizza and book fair night. RSVP by Friday, February 14, 2025. Don't forget to check the bus calender daily to ensure that your child’s bus is operating. Friday, February 14th, our Kindergarten students will be going to Imagination Station in Wilson. They will leave campus at 8:30 and should return by 2:00. Thank you and have a great evening

Good evening Northeast Guardians: here are next week’s reminders and updates. The PBIS focus will be the cafeteria. Ask your child what happens during the first ten minutes of lunch. Tuesday, February 4th, 5th grade students will take their Science NC check-ins. Wednesday, February 5th, 3rd-5th grade students will take their Math NC check-ins. Please make sure that your child is at school on time and gets plenty of rest. As a reminder, no outside food can be brought into the school for lunch. Students are only allowed to eat food from their lunch boxes or the cafeteria. During class time, students can only drink water. They are not allowed to drink any other beverage. However, during lunch, the students can drink anything except soda and energy drinks. Please speak with you child about what they can have to eat and drink at school. Don't forget to check the bus calendar daily. There are buses that are already listed for being out this month. Ms Brooks will only place messages on Classdojo when the driver can't drive and we weren't given notice. If you are dropping off or picking up your child from school, please don't forget to use the race track. Drop off starts at 7:10 and they are tardy at 7:30 and must be signed in by an adult. In the afternoon, the coaches stop taking numbers at 2:50 to enter them into our system. If you are not at school before 2:50, your child will have to be called to the front. Good evening Northeast Guardians: We hope that everyone enjoyed the snow and was able to enjoy some quality time with family. Here are next week’s reminders and updates. The PBIS focus will be hallways. Please make sure to talk with your child about the importance of following the hallway rules. The students need to ensure that they transition in the hallways without talking. Our students who are in the classrooms need to focus on what their teacher is trying to teach them. Wednesday, January 29th the mClass testing window closes. Our 3rd-5th grade students will be completing their NC Check-ins for reading. Thursday, January 30th the fifth-grade students will be showing their 50 states dioramas. Parents will be able to view the dioramas from 10:30-11:30. Friday, January 31st will be the last day to complete the Star Reading and Star Math assessments. Please make sure that your child is present every day this week to ensure that your child has completed all of their assessments. Don't forget to review the bus calendar daily to ensure that your child’s bus will be operating. We only use ClassDojo to notify of a last-minute cancelation. Tomorrow, January 20th, the school will be closed in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Thursday, January 23rd the Miles for Smiles dental services will begin. Friday, January 24th, 5th-grade students will be showing their 50 States Dioramas. The students will be showing the dioramas from 10:30-11:30. Don't forget to view the bus calendar daily to ensure that your child's bus is operating. If you are still waiting on a bus assignment, please send a private message to Ms. Brooks using Classdojo. Good evening Northeast Guardians, here are next week’s updates and reminders. Our PBIS focus this week is the bus. Please speak with your child about following the rules of the bus. Ask them to tell you about the expectations that were discussed Thursday during their specials block. Wednesday, January 15th is an early dismissal day. The students will be dismissed at 12:45. Our K-2 grade students will also have a hearing screening from the speech pathologists in the district. Friday, January 17th, the EC students will build snowmen with their parents from 1-2. This past Friday report cards went home. Please review the report card with your child and schedule a meeting with your child’s teacher if you have any concerns. Don’t forget to check the bus calendar daily to ensure your child’s bus will be operating. There are several bus changes listed on the calendar for next week and next month. Good evening Northeast Guardians and Happy New Year. Tomorrow, the students will return to school and start the 3rd nine weeks. The PBIS focus will be a review of every area of the school. (Bus, hallway, cafeteria, bathroom, playground and classroom) Wednesday, January 8th, the assessment window will will open for mClass, Star Reading and Star Math. Thursday, January 9th, there will be a school-wide assembly to review the school expectations. Friday, January 10th, report cards will go home. Please review your child’s report card and reach out to their teacher if you have any questions.

Good evening Northeast guardians, here are next week’s reminders and updates. The PBIS focus will be the playground. Don’t forget to purchase a smencil for $2. All proceeds go toward the spring field trip for fourth grade. We will be finishing out our 12 days of holiday fun: Monday Glow Day, Tuesday Elf Day, Wednesday Ruldoph Day, Thursday Grinch Day, and Friday Pajama Day. Tomorrow, December 16th, PTO will be at HWY 55 on Wayne Memorial Drive from 5 pm to 10 pm. 10% of all proceeds will go to The NEE PTO. Keep those leftovers from tonight and eat them on Tuesday night and come join us for burgers and much more. Friday, December 20th is an early dismissal. School will dismiss at 12:45. Good evening Northeast Guardians: Here are next week's events and reminders: The PBIS focus for this week will be the bathrooms. Talk with your child about the expectations in the bathroom. We will continue to do 12 days of Holiday Cheer next week. Monday: Camo Day, Tuesday: dress like a Christmas tree, Wednesday: wear red white and green, Thursday: dress like a snowman and Friday: ugly sweater. Our fourth-grade students are selling smencils and bookmarks to reduce the price for their spring field trip. The cost for the smencils or bookmarks is $2. Friday, December 13th, the Kindergarteners will be building Gingerbread Houses, 12:30-1:30. Please remember to view the bus calendar daily. If a cancellation occurs last minute, Ms. Brooks will add a message to Classdojo and schedule a phone message. This is just a reminder to make transportation changes on Classdojo before noon. Good evening Northeast Guardians: Tomorrow, the staff will be honoring Mr Whitehead. If you are not aware, Mr. Whitehead has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer and will be retiring at the end of this month. The school sold t-shirts and the proceeds will be presented to Mr. Whitehead tomorrow. The staff and those who would like to participate will be taking a picture afterwards. If you would like to participate in our picture, please be here at 1:45 to line up. We will be wearing either the Mr. Whitehead t-shirts or purple. Thank you

Good evening Northeast Guardians: Here are next week's updates and reminders. The PBIS focus will be the hallways. Ask your child what are the expectations for the hallway. Please remind your child if they would like to eat breakfast, they must do so before 7:25. The doors will close at 7:25 for car riders. If your child is a bus rider and they get to school after 7:25, they will be served breakfast. The students must always go straight to breakfast when they get off the bus or get out of the car. When they get into the cafeteria, we have staff available to assist the students and to let the students know where there are available seats in the designated area. Tuesday, November 26th will be the last day before the Thanksgiving break. The Northeast staff would like to say have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving break. Thank you and have a great evening

Please make sure to remind your child that it is important to always try their best and follow all school and classroom expectations. Tuesday, November 19th, the fourth grade students will be going on their field trip to Tryon Palace. They will leave the school at 7:45 and return around 2:15. Wednesday, November 20th is an early release day. The students will be released from school at 12:45. Thank you and have a great evening.

Please continue to talk with your child about the bus rules. Tomorrow, November 11th is a holiday. The school will be closed. Tomorrow, we celebrate the men and women who have fought or are fighting for our country. The Northeast staff would like to thank you for your service. Wednesday, November 13th is World Kindness Day. Friday, November 15th, progress reports will go home. Please make sure to review the progress report and contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns. Saturday, November 16th, 2 pm-4 pm, the NEE PTO is sponsoring a gathering at Dee’s Memorial Park. 403 NW Railroad St Pikeville, NC. The children will be able to play and the adults will be able to socialize. Popsicles and hot chocolate will be served. As always, have a great evening.

Please speak with your child about the area of the school their teacher focuses on. The area is typically the area that the teacher sees a need for. Challenge them to give you the expectations for the area. Tomorrow, November 4th, will be the last day we will collect for Coins for a Cause. Next week, the students will take their NC Check-ins. Please make sure they are on time. Tuesday will be Science for the fifth-graders. Wednesday will be reading and Thursday will be Math. Talk to your child about the behaviors that they should display on the playground. They can not play football, they can throw it only. They can not play tag. Let your child tell you other rules that we have here at Northeast. Wednesday, October 30 will be an early release day. The students will be dismissed at 12:45. On Friday, November 1st, First Grade will be displaying their book character pumpkin projects. The time will be 12:30-1:30. The Coin for a Cause fundraiser ends on November 4th. Good evening Northeast Guardians: Please let me start by apologizing for sending a message this morning. That message was supposed to be scheduled for Wednesday night. Here are next week's reminders and events: Next week's PBIS focus will be bathrooms. Remind your child of a few of our rules: no playing, follow teachers' procedures, keep the restroom clean and respect everyone's privacy. NEE celebrates Red Ribbon Week. Monday: wear red or pink. Tuesday: wear your favorite team shirt or jersey. Wednesday: wear a pair of crazy socks. Thursday: wear neon colors or shades. Friday: wear NEE spirit wear or colors. Thursday, October 24th will be a student-led conference in your child's classroom from 4:30-6:30. There will be pizza served and Gaga in the gym. Friday, October 25th, the first-grade students will be going on their field trip to Dean's Farm. This is a reminder that if you would like to attend field trips or volunteer, you must complete the volunteer application. They will leave campus at 9:00 and return around 2:00. Good evening Northeast Guardians: Here are next week's reminders and events: the PBIS focus for next week will be the cafeteria. Review with your child what the expectations are for the cafeteria. The first ten minutes is no talking. They can only talk to students at their table and use voice level of 1, after the first ten minutes. They must get everything they need before they sit down in their seats. Tuesday, October 15th is the last day of the fundraiser. Please make sure to turn in all monies in by the end of the day. Thursday, October 17th is the last day of the first grading period and campus beautician day. Your child will participate in campus clean up during their specials time. Friday, October 18th. Next week we will have a fire drill, please remind your child that it is a drill and to take it seriously. Don't forget to review the bus calendar daily for updates on the buses. Please be reminded that all afternoon transportation changes must be done in writing and in before noon each day. No child can be signed out of school after 2:30. Make sure that you have your car tag hung up so that the staff can put your car tag number in the system. If you do not have your car tag, you will be asked to park and wait until the car rider line is finished and your child will be brought to the office. The office is closed from 2:30 until after the car rider line is complete so that the office staff can assist with dismissal. Have a great evening

Good evening Northeast Guardians, here are next week's reminders and upcoming events. The PBIS focus will be hallways. We are still asking for your help with the buses. Remind your child about the importance of following all bus rules. Friday, October 11th, our third-grade students will be going on a field trip to the Premiere Theatre. They will leave campus at 8:30 and return by noon. The Patetown Fire Department will visit the school. Our Pre-K, Kindergarten, first grade and EC students will be able to see Smokey the Bear in the gym at 1:00. Pre-K through Fifth-grade students will be able to see a presentation at the fire trucks starting at 1:30. Don't forget the Coins For a Cause. All proceeds will go to help families in need in Western North Carolina. The jugs are located in the office. Please send in any money that you would like to donate to this cause. We are also collecting items to go to help the victims. Please visit our Northeast Facebook page or the Wayne County Public Schools website for a list of the items that you can donate.
