An Important Message from Charles B. Aycock High School for Thursday, 12.21.23 at 10:00 AM:
Hello Golden Falcons Family!
Great job by our students and staff with the successful completion of our Fall Semester and Exams! We hope everyone enjoys your Christmas Holidays with no school for students from 12.21.23 to 1.3.24. Students will return to school for the first day of our Spring semester on Thursday 1.4.24.
Note: Our Faculty & Staff return for workdays on Tuesday 1.2.24 and Wednesday 1.3.24.
For our Spring Semester, we will make a change to our daily bell schedule to move back to a more traditional Block Bell schedule with 90 minute class periods and a 10 minute homeroom after second period with our normal 25 minute lunch rotations. Our day will still be from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day.
We will still have our Flex schedule on our Early Dismissal / Enrichment weeks each month in order to maintain our normal Clubs / Enrichment activities for our students each month. There will be four early dismissal weeks during the Spring Semester.
This change in our daily bell schedule will provide some additional instructional time for our students and teachers, while also providing the flexibility needed for our Clubs and Enrichment activities. We feel this will be the best of both worlds for our students and staff as we continue to provide high quality teaching and learning for each student in every class, every day!
We will share the updated daily bell schedule information to each student via their email accounts, so we encourage them to check their email regularly for this information and other updates. We will also share this information on our alert message system, school website, school social media pages, and with our students during homeroom and our grade level assemblies on the first two days of our Spring Semester on Thursday, 1.4.24 and Friday, 1.5.24.
Note: We will go to an extended 45 minute Homeroom first thing before 1st Period on our first two days of our Spring Semester on Thursday, 1.4.24 and Friday, 1.5.24.
We wish you and your families a Happy Holidays; a Merry Christmas; and a safe and prosperous New Year!
Stay Golden Falcons and we will see you around The Flagship! #TheAycockWay
