Epsilon Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, alongside WCPS, and the Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni and Friends and I.Rise.Above LLC will be sponsoring a workshop on Saturday, October 26 from 1-4pm at the Neal Stitt building. Please see the flyer for all the details. This event is in conjunction with the National College Application Week which takes place October 21-26.
We want to encourage students not to wait until the last minute to start thinking about and applying for college, thinking about careers or going into military service after graduation.

This is a reminder that Mr. Kornegay from Herff Jones will be on campus this Wednesday, October 9th, in the front lobby during lunch. He will be taking orders and money for class rings, cap and gowns. Remember, prices go up after February, so don't wait. This would be a great time to order and check this off of your to-do-list!

Steps for Seniors to order Cap and Gown and other items from Herff Jones:
1. Go to the website https://www.herffjones.com
2.At the top left corner click on "Graduation" and then "Shop your school"
3. The next screen will ask for your high school . You will need to type in "C.B. Aycock" and click on our school.
4. Click on "Shop graduation product"
5. Click on "Grad gear and apparel"
6. Scroll passed "Apparel", scroll passed "Senior Jewelry" and scroll passed "Accessories "
7.AND FINALLY you will see the option for a cap and gown under "Graduation Essentials"

There will be a swim team interest meeting on Wednesday, October 9th in Coach Joyner's room 701 during homeroom. You do not have to have competitive swimming experience to join the team. Stop by Room 701 if you have any questions.

The next drivers education class will be held at Goldsboro High School in the school cafeteria from 8 am to 2 pm. Classes are October 19, 26, November 2, 9, and 16.
The classes are by sign up only on the Wayne County Public Schools website.
A student must be 14 1/2 on the first day of class.
When the class is closed an email will be sent out to the student to inform them they successfully got in the class.

The Wayne County Fair Cheer Competition is set for Wednesday, Oct. 2 starting at 5:00pm.
The Golden Falcon Cheerleaders will be competing in the High School Division! Come out and cheer on our team!!!

The Pre-ACT will be given to all 10th graders on Tuesday, Oct. 22-Thursday, Oct. 24 2024.
This test will allow our 10th graders a taste of what taking the ACT in 1th grade will be like.

Progress Reports will go out this week. Parents can use their student’s Infinite Campus credentials to monitor student attendance and grades as we wait for the parent portal switch over.

As a reminder: This Wednesday, Sept. 25 is an early dismissal day. Please be sure to have all transportation arrangements in place for a 1:00pm dismissal.

ATTENTION: FOOTBALL GAME DAY CHANGES!
Due to the threat of unstable weather for Friday, our JV and Varsity football games have been moved up.
JV will play AT East Wake on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6:00pm
Varsity will play at HOME on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7:00pm.
Thursday's game will also be Little Falcon and Norwayne Middle Recognition night!
